Regenera Activa® involves the collection of tissue specimens using Autologous Micrografting Technology® (AMT®) from the patient’s own scalp. In contrast to synthetic treatments, AMT® eliminates the risk of tissue rejection, sensitivity or allergy while assuring hair growth potential.
Regenera Activa® works by reintroducing the micrografts into areas of hair thinning, in order to help hair follicles to regain normal growth characteristics.

A thorough consultation with an experienced doctor will be able to identify if you are a good candidate for Regenera Activa®. Any underlying health condition or vitamin deficiency causing hair loss should be identified and treated prior to Regenera Activa® treatments and in most cases, a combination of oral and topical treatment is recommended to optimise the outcome of regenera. In certain conditions like Alopecia Arreta, Regenera Activa® is contraindicated. It is important that your doctor is able to identify suitable candidates to prevent disappointment.
Done under local anaesthesia, samples are abstracted from the back of the scalp (usually a small area behind the ear) as it is the area that is least susceptible to androgenetic alopecia. As the samples removed are small (approximately 2.0 mm in diameter), the affected area usually heals without visible scars.
Through AMT®, injectable micrografts are obtained; composing of mainly growth factors derived from the patient’s own scalp, with no other manipulation than mechanical disaggregation. The injectable micrografts are then administered into balding areas of the scalp to stimulate the regrowth process.

AMT® triggers hair follicle regeneration, and hair loss reduction can be observed after one month. An improvement in hair density (increased number of hair follicles) and thickness of individual hair shaft diameter can be seen when the normal hair cycle begins. The process also helps to reactivate dormant hair follicles under the scalp. The results can be expected around 1 to 2 months and maintained up to 1.5 years. It is recommended to continue with hair loss medications after the treatment to maintain results.
Results are more noticeable for patients who have thinning hair, who are already on hair loss treatments.
It is recommended to repeat the treatment after 15-18 months to maintain the results.
